![]() I haven’t drawn a super-rare card yet, sadly, but have won a few league championships at the various levels. I’d never had a Perfect Card in any Perfect Team (19 or 20), and to rip it live on stream was just the best thing ever.Īrnold: I don’t think I can point to one specific highlight moment. And they still do, on Thursday nights at 10 PM ET most weeks.īut I also have a second highlight, and that was ripping a Perfect Ty Cobb card live on that weekly Thursday stream when I decided to get some packs with my leftover Perfect Points after buying a few players on the auction house. I had a blast with that team that season, especially because the OOTP Perfect Team community helped me build it. Grisham: An extraordinary season I had a few weeks back where my team had a tremendous regular season and playoff run, taking a better team to Game 7 of the championship series only to lose in extra innings. But pulling a Perfect is just an amazing feeling! Unfortunately it was during the beta, so it got erased when PT officially launched - too bad. Heinsohn: Pulling a Perfect Honus Wagner card. Q: What’s your top highlight from playing Perfect Team so far? OOTP Perfect Team Community Manager Kris Jardine.OOTP Development Assistant Lukas Berger.OOTP Developments Chief Marketing Officer Rich Grisham.OOTP Creator and Head Developer Markus Heinsohn. The OOTP crew has of course joined in on the fun too, so we asked 6 of them to tell us about their highlights playing Perfect Team, as well as their strategies for beating the opposition. The competition to build the perfect roster and reach the lofty ranks of the Perfect Leagues has been fierce. You can buy their contracts for $250k if you have cash available.Perfect Team mode in Out of the Park Baseball, which debuted in OOTP 19 last year and received an upgrade for OOTP 20 this year, fired up fans around the world. Look for young guys with high potential there as well. Not every league allows their players to be bought but some do. By the end I’m looking for 1 high potential tool with the hope they can develop another 1 or 2 as they progress through the system.ĭon’t forget to look at the international leagues as well for guys you can purchase. So then I look for guys with a couple highly rated “tools”. The 5 tool guys get picked early obviously. Overall, I try to think in terms of the 5 tool players: hit for avg, hit for power, speed, arm, and fielding. Sometimes you’ll find a guy you can draft and convert! Plus I always sort for pitchers only and check hit ratings and sort batters only and check their pitching ratings. I’d rather take a chance on someone else. My scout likes to recommend impossible to sign players sometimes. More than anything I look for signability. Control and a change up are always last to develop if they do at all so a high current rating for either is big if you find it. Also look for high movement potential as that keeps HRs down. So what’s their current velocity and do I see them improving it. A young guy that’s 6’3 or taller is more likely to pick up some velocity while developing than a guy 5’8 for example. Those are your OBP kings.įor pitchers I look for size and stamina. But I’m also looking eye and avoid K rating. ![]() I want power guys for the corners: RF, LF, 3B, 1B. Speed and range for outfielders but especially CF. In general, I look for defense up he middle: SS & CF, catcher ability & arm. ![]() I had a 13th rounder with low work ethic become a multi-MVP winner. I check work ethic but I don’t avoid guys with lower ratings. I usually trust my scout but I’ll over rule him several times each draft. ![]()
